Stratford is located in the East End of London and is undergoing regeneration to become a significant cultural and commercial centre. It is home to the London Olympic Park, which was built for the London 2012 Olympics.

Greenwich is notable for its maritime history and for giving its name to the Greenwich Mean Time. It is also home to the O2 Arena and the surrounding entertainment complex.

Located to the east of Waltham Forest, much of Hackney maintains its inner-city character and in places like Dalston large housing estates now sit side-by-side with gated communities. In South Hackney, near Victoria Park, there are terraced Victorian and Edwardian housing.

Working Class: The residences in London's East End are more affordable than those in the City Centre. There are more houses available than in the city but blocks of flats are still common, especially on council estates.
