Les Quartiers Culturels
Viva Italia!: When many Italian immigrants moved to Montreal in the late 19th and early 20th century, they settled in the Northern end of Montreal. This location has now become known as Little Italy, the site of a bright and vibrant community welcoming to families and brimming with activity.

Working Class: St. Henri was once a working class neighborhood for Black and Irish families working alongside the canal. Today, the area is known for its quaint charm and its affordable rent compared to some of its counterparts, especially the Plateau. Take a stroll along the Lachine Canal, or stop by the Atwater Market.

Snow Hill: This neighborhood has a large immigrant and student population, and is the of the most densely populated and ethnically diverse neighborhoods in Canada and is the most populated borough in Montreal. With over 100 different ethnic communities, predominantly: Québécois, Filipino, West Indian (Black Canadians), South Asian (Tamils and Bengalis), Jewish, Latin American, Iranian, Chinese, Arab, Vietnamese and most recently Eastern European and African. It is one of the few Montreal neighborhoods where neither the French nor English language dominate.

Les Quartiers Artistiques
The Hippest Neighborhood: The Plateau-Mont-Royal takes its name from its location on relatively flat terrain north of Sherbrooke Street and downtown, and east of Mont-Royal. The borough is bordered to the north and north-east by the Canadian Pacific Railway tracks; to the west by Hutchison, Park Avenue and University Street and to the south by Sherbrooke Street. It is one of the most densely populated neighborhoods in Canada.

Golden Square Mile: Mile End since the 1980s has been known for its culture as an artistic neighbourhood, home to artists, musicians, writers, and filmmakers. The comic book company Drawn & Quarterly was founded in Mile End in 1989, and in 2007 opened up a flagship store on Bernard that is now regarded as the literary hub of the neighbourhood. The area is home to the city's two most famous bagel bakeries, Fairmount Bagel and St-Viateur Bagel.

Le Centre-Ville
Beginnings: Old Montreal (French: Vieux-Montréal) is the oldest area in the city of Montreal, dating back to New France. Following recent amendments, the district has been expanded slightly to include the rue des Soeurs Grises in the west, Saint Antoine St. in the north and Saint Hubert Street in the east. It also includes the Old Port of Montreal. Most of Old Montreal was declared an historic district in 1964 by the Ministère des Affaires culturelles du Québec.

Wealthy Montreal: Westmount is mostly a wealthy residential area, containing schools, an arena, a pool, a public library and a number of parks. The city operates its own electricity distribution company Westmount Light & Power (Hydro Westmount). The city is also the location of three Canadian Forces Primary Reserves : 34 Combat Engineer Regiment, The Royal Montreal Regiment and 34th Signals Regiment.

Island Life: Montreal has two sub-islands connected to it: Notre Dame and Sainte-Hélène. These islands are small, and Notre Dame was actually man-made, but they are home to some of the city's most lucrative tourist attractions, such as the Casino de Montreal and La Ronde, the city's biggest amusement park!
