fixing something

It felt like Avigail was back in prison. She had not expected to go from prison to a compound. That was what the colony basically was and once again she was enforced to stay within the walls. At least she had more freedom here than she did when she was detoxing. She could leave if she wanted to, but then she would risk being killed zombies. And Avigail was not ready to face that. She wanted to feel free, despite not really being free. It was just, well different.

On the plus side, Avigail had reunited with her brother. She had dreamed of that day for ages and the time was now, finally. It was weird knowing that she hadn't left rehab alone. Levi Walker was always a few steps behind her and she could not quite decide if she liked that or not. It felt like he was following her as some sort of informant, someone to communicate with someone to make sure she stayed clean. She was just paranoid. Avigail was probably always going to be paranoid. It was hard to think of anyone as anything but genuine. Levi truly wanted to experience happiness with her and her she was thinking he was around for an alternate reason. She was seriously messed up and as much as she wanted it to go away, she knew that it probably wouldn't.

Sitting in the almost empty food hall was strange. Avigail had always been in such crowded places that being surrounded by en empty void was weird but also so comforting. it was great to know that she could be alone if she wanted, she wasn't always surrounded by someone. Before she either had her roommate around or everyone in the prison rehab was around her. The silence and space was growing on her. She was certainly not expecting a loud blonde girl to sit across from her. It startled Avigail who was in her own little world, causing her to dig her nails into her legs and for her to slightly jump. "Hello." Avigail was certainly not new to being called the "new girl" but it was still sort of unnerving.

Hoping that the blonde would leave her be, Avigail kept quiet for as long as she could. But then she started to feel bad for ignoring her. "Right." Did everyone know who she was? Certainly it was easy to connect her and Theo by last names but did others just simply know his sister was back and therefore automatically act like they knew she was back, like they expected it all along? The girl talked more and laughed, mentioning prison which made Avigail shiver and squeeze her eyes shut hard for a moment. Maybe the girl wouldn't notice the reflex? Did people know she was in prison? Albeit a rehabilitation type prison. Or was it just a random thing the blonde, who introduced herself as Hazel, came up with out of thin air?

"Thanks..." Avigail's voice trailed off in an unsure tone. What a great impression to put on herself in front of Hazel. "It is alright." Avigail prayed her past wasn't going to come up in this conversation.
