The Hippest Neighborhood: The Plateau-Mont-Royal takes its name from its location on relatively flat terrain north of Sherbrooke Street and downtown, and east of Mont-Royal. The borough is bordered to the north and north-east by the Canadian Pacific Railway tracks; to the west by Hutchison, Park Avenue and University Street and to the south by Sherbrooke Street. It is one of the most densely populated neighborhoods in Canada.

Home Sweet Home: The Plateau area does not really have houses, as it's a neighborhood that primarily accommodates students, small families, and young professionals. Duplexes and triplexes are the norm here, and they are rented out as apartments. This area also has a lot of studio-apartment combos, which is perfect for practicing artists as they can live and work in the same place.

Golden Square Mile: Mile End since the 1980s has been known for its culture as an artistic neighbourhood, home to artists, musicians, writers, and filmmakers. The comic book company Drawn & Quarterly was founded in Mile End in 1989, and in 2007 opened up a flagship store on Bernard that is now regarded as the literary hub of the neighbourhood. The area is home to the city's two most famous bagel bakeries, Fairmount Bagel and St-Viateur Bagel.
