The motto of the oldest English-language institution in Montreal gives a stately presence to one of the country's oldest higher education institutions. Home to many prestigious programs in medicine, law, architecture, etc, the school is a top notch institution. Also of note is that it was hailed as one of North America's top ten party schools by Playboy Magazine.

McGill Residence: As much of McGill's undergraduate student population comes from out of province, McGill has several residences to welcome students. Douglas Hall is one of the best known. The building is divided into 8 houses, all of which can be accessed through a common courtyard, or internally via the underground 'tunnel.' Each house has single and/or double occupancy rooms. Most single rooms are arranged in a suite with three bedrooms sharing a common living area.
