favorite things about autumn

It's almost that time of year when the leaves change and things get a little crisp. What are some of your favorite things about autumn?!

Autumn is a time for comfort and warmth. For me, not only is the food awesome but the clothes are so comfy and soft. You're always snug as a bug in a sweater but you're not freezing from icy snow. The fire can be toasty. The food is hot and filling. The colors are bright and vivid (reds, oranges, yellows, and browns). It's no wonder most nostalgia is from this time for some people. It's part of my favorite times of year.

One of my favorite aspects of autumn is the smell and the cool air. I love how the wind cools your cheeks and gives it a little glow. And the smell, you can smell the leaves and the earth more. I love putting on scarves and sweaters. I wear boots year round but I can't get enough of the sweaters. I like pumpkin flavored everything too!

Rich, pretty colors, hoodies, Halloween, and APPLES EVERYWHERE. I'm not a pumpkin fan at all but apples - oh man, if everything in the world tasted like apple cinnamon pie, I'd be dead from overeating by now. Apple picking, fresh-squeezed apple juice, fresh cold apple cider, warm apple cider on a cool, crisp autumn day, apple pie, apple butter, APPLE EVERYTHING. *drooling just thinking about it* Oh, and it'll finally be appropriate to drink hot cocoa every day again too.

Angel and Shadow, you get it! I'm obsessed with apple and pumpkin tasting things during fall too. I even make this killer caramel apple protein shake for after my workouts and it's lip smackin' awesome!

This is like porn to me.

Oh yeah Heidi, I love that post!

And I forgot about APPLES. I've been to the apple festival in Long Grove two years in a row and it's so amazing. Apple Pie Coffee blew my mind. I love all the apple flavored things! Apple donuts with caramel on it! The colors and Halloween go without saying. I have had costume ideas since last Halloween. xp

In Hawaii we never really see the changes of the seasons. For us its a change in the surf and a bit more rain that indicates that its Autumn and Winter. Used to be school started in September so that was an indication of Autumn but now school starts in August... so glad I'm done!

I think the only indication for me that it's Autumn is the fact that in all the stores I start to see the Halloween items hit the shelves, along with a few Thanksgiving stuff. Then, like Erika pointed out, there's all the pumpkin stuff that only makes an appearance at this time of year.
