THERE'S MORE THAN ONE WAY TO RECEIVE WHATEVER YOU WANT

Earlier this morning, I put out a fun post about being happy with what my designer sent me as a color board, minus one color. I said that whoever guessed a) what color I was swapping out and b) what color I was replacing it with would each get 5$ to use at Starbucks.

Maru Iabichela definitely guessed the wrong color, but she put her e-mail on the post anyways in case I ever changed my mind about the pink.

My thought was - "I love how even though the odds seem stacked against her right now because I have no plans to swap out this color, she's not closing herself off to the possibility of receiving at some point in the future." So she got a gift card from me, too.

Moral of the story: Just because things seem stacked against you it doesn't mean that that's the only way forward. Be open to what you want showing up in other ways, whether that's 5 bucks at Starbucks or anything else.

Detach from the how because it's going to be more rewarding in the end.

It felt strange and awesome, all the same time, to have a ring on his finger. Sterling was just so stunned by the fact that he was now a married man. He couldn’t wait to spend his life showing his bride just how perfect she was for him. Their vows had been true and it would continue to be true. Sterling knew that some marriages and relationships didn’t work out the way people hoped and Beca had already been through one of those, but Sterling would make it a point to make it so clear that nothing in the world was going to change the way their relationship worked. Their marriage would be strong and it would be filled with love and passion and understanding. They might have started out this marriage on the wrong foot with the Vegas debacle, but Sterling had seen an opportunity and he took it. It was important to him that they do this the right way and that included getting married for good and making this relationship official. The rings on their fingers did symbolise everything that they had said and promised that day and he knew for a fact that nothing and no one would be able to take that away from him.

The officiant was speaking, Sterling was listening to everything, relating it to their love for each other and their relationship thus far. There had been ups and downs through out, but for the most part, it had been everything that they had ever wanted or could hope for. Smiling as he watched Beca, Sterling squeezed her hand to let her know that he was there to support her through that moment and all the moments that we coming in the future. They were a team. Husband and wife, they were always going to be there for each other and nothing and no one could take that away from them. Sterling wished that he could say more about his love for Beca, but he just wanted to hold her in his arms, become her husband, make it official. Their friends and families chimed in with ‘we do’ and Sterling laughed softly as he glanced around at everyone he had gathered together for the wedding.

Closing the gap between them, Sterling wrapped his free arm around her waist as he kissed her back. It was a chaste kiss, given the company, but it still said everything that both of them wanted to say. Pulling back, he smiled and looked at Beca, taking a step back as she put her hand in his again. The officiant smiled at them and then announced them husband and wife and Sterling grinned. Pulling Beca back towards him, he hugged her, burying his face in her neck as everyone stood up and cheered, confetti and rice flying at them. Sterling pulled back to look at Beca and grinned, “Mrs. Murphy, I love you.”
